4000      Introduction to 2D Art *
In this course, students will learn about the elements and principles of Art.  The use of line, shape, space, texture, balance, etc. will be incorporated into various projects. Drawing, painting, color theory, sculpture, pottery, art history and crafts are some of the areas covered.  Students are given the opportunity to exhibit one of their works of Art in the Krempp Gallery in Jasper during the year.
Grade: 9-12                    Prerequisite:  None                Credits: 2 credits
 
 
4006      Adv 2D Art  *   Can be taken additional years
The elements and principles of art will be reemphasized.  More advanced drawing techniques with a concentration on figure drawing from a live model will be covered.  Other activities include: art history, warping and weaving on a 4-harness loom, making lids and handles for ceramic pieces, oil painting, matting and framing art work and printmaking.  Students are given the opportunity to exhibit on of their works of art in the Krempp Gallery in Jasper during the year.
Grade: 9-12                 Prerequisite: 2D Art                 Credits: 2 credits
 
 
4002      Introduction to 3D Art *
In this course, students will review the elements and principles of Art and apply them to various projects.  Specific activities include: advanced drawing, watercolor painting, working on the potter’s wheel, ceramics, oil painting, sculpture, weaving and crafts.  Students are given the opportunity to exhibit one of their works of Art in the Krempp Gallery in Jasper during the school year. 
Grade: 10-12    Prerequisite: Intro to 2-D & Advanced   Credits:  1 credit
 
 
4008      Adv 3D Art  *  Can be taken additional years
Elements and principles of art will be reemphasized.  Students will create portfolios, work in advanced methods of printmaking, drawing, batik, textiles, pastel drawing, portraits, stretch canvas for oil painting, and art history.   Students are given the opportunity to exhibit one of their works of art in the Krempp Gallery in Jasper during the year.
Grade: 10-12         Prerequisite: Three semesters Art     Credits: 1 credit
