Community Engagement

Café en el Parque is a space to honor our Hispanic culture and share life experiences to create a bond with our community. Together we get to know each other and learn about all the services we have available . Through a guided conversation we share situations that are important to us. Come, sit, listen and talk with us, together we build a strong community for our children. Everyone is invited, we are all one, we all move forward together.

Coming Soon-  Bilingual Village is a program that promotes global skills by supporting proficiency in Spanish and English.
It is a network between our schools and community partners that enables language learners to practice their target language in a safe space outside the classroom. 
Community partners are public businesses, organizations, agencies, individuals, and institutions that welcome second language learners, so they have a safe space to practice their new language in the real world. 
 

A program presented by EDUCA Evansville, for young women of color, predominantly Latinas. It is an empowerment and leadership program for youth of color and other ethnic minorities that offers them tools and opportunities to connect with each other, explore the academic disciplines of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), use their voices through the expressions arts and journalism, provide access and education in mental health and wellness, and develop the skills necessary to mentor and support other young women of color and other minorities in their communities.

Our first long term project solidifying the link between community, schools and families in a multilingual setting outside the classroom. We sustain global skills and present a safe space for our children and families to practice multilingualism and multiculturalism, valuable skills for our Hoosier children.
Our principals and staff read a story, learn and sing a song in English and Spanish with live music and close our session with a craft.  This is a fun time for all!

Bilingual brain power is a global skill that we respect and work to sustain, we created this group for our students who have just arrived in the United States, we have 2 goals: Learn the culture and the education system in the United States while maintaining pride in their cultural identity and Learning English, the beginning of your second language. We meet once a week after school, there is transportation.

Tutoring helps our students strengthen comprehension about the educational system in the US, requirements and opportunities, boost confidence, and build important learning skills. We work reviewing their credits, subjects, GPA, setting goals and reviewing funding opportunities to access higher education.
